Healthy Setting

We are proud to announce that thanks to lots of hard work by our Health Champion, Leanne Knight, we have gained the accolade of ‘Healthy Setting’ and are one of the very first organisations in Sefton to gain this award. Leanne has worked tirelessly with outside organisations and with our own staff to ensure that we as a Setting are promoting healthy living values, and doing all we can to to make sure that all stakeholders in our Group are as ‘healthy’ as possible.

What is a ‘Healthy Setting’?

Becoming a Healthy Setting means that we, through Leanne, are able to offer advice, help and support on issues such as:

  • Immunisations
  • Fussy Eaters
  • Breast Feeding
  • Alcohol
  • Mental Health
  • Smoking
  • Oral Health
  • Toilet Training
  • Childhood Illnesses
  • Sleepless Nights

With our partner, Active Sefton, we are also able to offer information and advice around free activities for children around Sefton, whether that be during term time or in the school holidays.

Breast Feeding

We are also pleased to announce that we are also accredited as a ‘Breast Feeding Support Centre’, meaning that we welcome mothers and their babies into the Setting (whether parents/friends or not) and can provide a safe place for breastfeeding whenever the situation should arise.

Why us?

We believe that the futures of our children and those within the local community is of utmost importance, and we commit ourselves to ensuring that all around us have the skills and tools necessary to make lives as healthy and fun-filled as possible. As a Setting, we feel it is our duty to ensure that our children have the understanding of healthy lifestyles and healthy choices, so that when the time comes, they are able to make informed decisions about their own lifestyles that could have lasting effects on their wellbeing as a whole.

Food & Drink

Any food and drink offered by the Setting has been sourced to ensure that our offerings are not only healthy and nutritious, but tasteful & energising too. We would encourage our parents to do the same when considering choices for the lunches that our children consume, and with this in mind, we are happy to provide advice and support to parents about food/drink choices whenever it is needed – speak to a member of our staff for more information.
